About Famly Famly builds the world's most collaborative Early Childhood Platform — software connecting adults (educators, families) in a young child's life to collaborate, share workload, and learn about early childhood development. The platform serves 8,000+ nurseries and childcare centers globally, with 100,000+ childcare professionals across UK, US, Germany, and 15+ additional countries. Company has 180 employees across multiple offices.

Origin story: Co-founders Henrik and Anders created Famly after noticing excessive paper-based communication in childcare settings and the disconnection parents felt from children during the day.

The Role — What You'll Do

  • Build quick, lean experiments and scalable production features driving growth across Famly's platform
  • Work in a data-driven environment with instant visibility into impact on thousands of childcare professionals and families
  • Work across products on varied tasks: frontend UI, backend APIs, infrastructure
  • Collaborate on planning, designing, developing, and rolling out features/improvements
  • Use AI tools naturally in development workflow for prototyping, code generation, debugging
  • Transform Famly into product-led organization, helping customers find, test, buy, and love the platform independently

Current Focus Areas

  • US market expansion
  • Building billing and payments hub for childcare centers
  • Redesigning product navigation architecture
  • Improving onboarding flows to drive activation

Team Context

  • Growth team: 7 engineers, 2 designers, 1 PM
  • Every individual shapes direction
  • Ship from quick experiments to long-term strategic features
  • Cross-functional, fast-moving, reporting directly to CEO

Required Qualifications

  • Work independently, self-driven, genuine ownership from idea to production
  • Product-minded: understand user needs, combine empathy with technical knowledge to shape how products work
  • Actively use AI in development workflow; excited about pushing AI-assisted engineering boundaries
  • Solid working understanding of functional programming (team uses Scala with cats, cats-effect, fs2, slick)
  • Build across the stack: modern single-page apps with TypeScript and React; APIs in GraphQL and REST
  • Bring clarity to complex, ambiguous problems
  • Communicate clearly and kindly; learn fast; make teammates shine
  • (Company: 45+ nationalities, English as corporate language)

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Contributed to shaping team adoption of AI tools/workflows
  • Experience with Scala or another functional language (Haskell, F#, Elm)
  • Experience in growth or product-led environments
