Founding Engineer

Mobasi builds autonomous AI agents that conduct digital forensics investigations, orchestrating 150+ forensic tools. The mission emphasizes supporting law enforcement with advanced technology for cases involving missing persons, trafficking, child exploitation, and homicides.

The company is bootstrapped, profitable, and shipping rapidly — prioritizing sustainable business fundamentals over valuation maximization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Automating manual build/deployment processes to scale across thousands of customers
• Managing multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure, Anthropic, OpenAI)
• Ensuring CJIS compliance and SOC2 adherence for law enforcement clients
• Building CI/CD pipelines handling forensic datasets of 10s-100s of gigabytes
• Developing evaluation approaches for non-deterministic investigative outputs

Must-Haves:

• Daily AI tool usage in engineering work (hard requirement)
• Full-stack infrastructure ownership experience (cloud accounts, CI/CD, compliance)
• Cross-stack capability beyond infrastructure specialization
• Attention to production-level detail despite heavy AI reliance
• Self-directed, continuous learning mindset

Disqualifying Factors:

• Lack of current AI integration in workflow
• Need for structured processes/sprint planning
• Preference for pure technical challenges over business needs
• Focus on exit optimization over sustainable business building
