Backend Engineer

Tinybird helps developers and data teams build real-time data pipelines and products. Our platform enables users to ingest multiple data sources at scale, query and shape data using 100% pure SQL, and publish results as low-latency APIs.

What you'll do:

• Build complex web services and low-level infrastructure components
• Engineer prototypes and production applications with emphasis on speed
• Contribute across planning, organization, execution, and delivery phases
• Participate in on-call support to understand customer issues

What we're looking for:

• Highly-experienced backend engineer with expertise in complex web services
• Language-agnostic (we currently use Python and C++)
• Strong SQL and data knowledge
• Takes ownership and drives progress independently
• Excellent written communication skills
• Participates in on-call rotations
• Use AI tools (like Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, or others) to go faster, stay unblocked, and write better code
