About the Role:

Grafana Labs is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join the Kubernetes Monitoring team within Grafana Cloud Observability. You will work on scalable integrations for infrastructure components and data ingestion pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable integrations for infrastructure components and data ingestion pipelines
• Create middleware components simplifying observability solutions development
• Represent Grafana Labs in open source forums and working groups
• Collaborate with product, design, and docs teams on feature alignment
• Lead technical direction and vision, contributing to strategic discussions
• Partner with Sales, Product, and Support for comprehensive product experience
• Deploy well-tested, clean code with service ownership
• Contribute to open source projects like Alloy, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Beyla beyond immediate team scope

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years programming experience (Python, .NET, Java, Go, Rust, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience operating high-scale Kubernetes production systems with on-call experience
• Familiarity with observability tooling like Grafana
• Strong understanding of time-series data and metrics cardinality challenges
• Hands-on technical leadership experience
• Deep distributed systems knowledge
• Clean, maintainable, robust software engineering
• Self-driven project delivery capability
• Strong problem-solving and mentoring skills

Bonus Qualifications

• Prometheus operation in high-cardinality environments
• OpenTelemetry Collector pipeline experience
• CNCF Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD)
• Kubernetes operators/controllers development
• Open source contribution history with proven pull requests

Compensation:

Sweden: SEK 878,578 - SEK 1,054,294 + Restricted Stock Units (RSUs)
