We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer with extensive experience building systems at scale — someone who has already solved hard problems like scaling real-time systems, decomposing monoliths, and building reliable infrastructure for millions of users.
What you'll do
- Design and build event-driven architecture and service-oriented systems
- Scale real-time systems and decompose monoliths
- Build and scale AI infrastructure, including vector stores, embedding pipelines, LLM orchestration
- Use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate delivery and help define team standards
- Build platform primitives that enable other teams to ship faster
- Optimise PostgreSQL at scale (query optimization, partitioning, replication)
- Mentor engineers across the organization
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building and shipping at scale
- Proven track record with distributed systems serving tens of millions of MAU
- Deep expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, Go, and AWS
- Strong PostgreSQL experience at scale (query optimization, partitioning, replication)
- Familiarity with AI and ML infrastructure, including vector databases, embeddings, and LLM APIs
- Comfortable using AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code) as part of your daily workflow
