About the Role
Backstroke develops AI-powered email marketing for ecommerce brands. We're looking for a Software Engineer who ships fast, thinks clearly, and thrives in a small team.
What you'll do:
- Ship full-stack features end-to-end (backend to frontend)
- Use Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar tools to write, refactor, and ship code faster
- Move fast with iterative cycles and user feedback
- Own code quality, performance, and user experience
What we're looking for:
- 1-3 years shipping real software features
- Full-stack capability (or willingness to learn)
- Hands-on experience with AI coding tools
- Startup mentality and product thinking
Tech Stack:
- Backend: Ruby on Rails
- Frontend: React + TypeScript
- Database: PostgreSQL
- Infrastructure: AWS
