Staff Engineer / Tech Lead

Kyber (YC W23) builds AI-native document platforms for enterprises, particularly in insurance claims. They've 30x'd revenue and are profitable over 18 months, landed multi-figure contracts with major insurers, and partnered with Guidewire, Majesco, and Twilio Sendgrid. Backed by Y Combinator and Fellows Fund.

As Staff Engineer / Tech Lead, you will:

• Own end-to-end technical decisions across backend, frontend, data, and infrastructure
• Ship features while maintaining team unblocked status
• Lead sprint planning with tight prioritization
• Scale adoption of Agentic AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Greptile) into engineering workflows to accelerate time to market
• Establish reusable patterns for engineers and AI agents
• Own uptime, performance, and incident response
• Mentor engineers and help with hiring

Required Qualifications:

• 10x Engineer with a love of building
• System design expertise with large-scale data-driven applications
• 'Ship first, optimize and harden later' philosophy
• Prior experience holding engineers accountable
• Enterprise compliance experience (SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO)
• Security and reliability focus
• 6+ years experience

Tech Stack: Next.js, Tailwind, Express, Node.js, Redis, TypeScript, PostgreSQL

Salary: $200K - $260K Equity: 0.50% - 1.50% US citizen/visa only
